About the School
JAO Martial Arts Academy is a premier martial arts training facility located Brooklyn, NY. Since 2003 they’ve helped thousands of students reach their individual goals. No matter what your looking for, they have a program for you.
All TKD classes are taught by Master JAO Burgos, a world recognized 5th degree black belt under the International Taekwondo Federation, and multi time world champion. With small class sizes and personal attention to each and every student JAO Marital Arts students excel both on and off the mat. Although Taekwondo is used as a base style, most students also work on boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, grappling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, giving them a well rounded self defense base. This prepares them for anything they may encounter in life. Adult students can earn rank in both Taekwondo AND Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Our BJJ program is taught by JAO under the guidance of 11 time world champion Caio Terra.
Through martial arts, students learn the values that translate into their academic, and home lives. Each class helps build strength, confidence, respect, and discipline. The junior students are also taught real life self defense, awareness, and bully prevention.
