Charles “Charlie” Hiersche started Jiu Jitsu in 2006 and is the first home grown black belt from Lawrence, Kansas! After teaching for several years, in 2019 Charlie decided to open his first stand alone academy, the Caio Terra Academy, Lawrence.
Charlie is heavily vested in the Lawrence community. When he isn’t teaching at the academy he works as a fire fighter for the Lawrence Fire department. Charlie believes strongly that through Jiu Jitsu we can change lives! EVERYONE is always welcome at his academy!
